“The true method of singing is in harmony with nature and the rules of health.”
- Giovanni Battista Lamperti, The Technics of Bel Canto
Inspired by voice pedagogue G.B. Lamperti’s teaching philosophy and the Old English term for health, the name Hale & Harmony represents our desire for a holistic approach to music instruction. Healthy and efficient technique is our number one priority when assigning repertoire, as well as the individual needs of each student.
At Hale & Harmony Studio, our primary goal is to share the joy that is music. We aim to cultivate an environment of curiosity, dedication, support, and respect. Students will not be asked to do more than they can accomplish at their level because, while hard work is expected, we understand that our students are human beings. Music is a vulnerable craft, and lessons should be a safe space for students to make mistakes as they hone their skills.
Statement of Diversity & Inclusion
All are welcome here! As performers and educators, each H&H instructor has worked with many demographics of people with different beliefs, backgrounds, and identities. This studio strongly believes in coexisting amongst differences and our instructors are committed to creating an environment where students and teachers respect one another. We also aim to be careful and respectful if choosing repertoire from cultures outside of our own. If a student chooses to explore a piece from another culture or way of life, they will be encouraged to properly research and respect its background before performing it.
